Basketball Recap: Manokotak Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Manokotak had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the King Cove T-Jacks and Rookies 61-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lynx have posted since February 17, 2024.

Leading Manokotak to victory were Jethron Nanalook and Nevaeh Gloko. Nanalook posted 30 points, while Gloko put up 23 points. The contest was Nanalook's seventh in a row with at least ten points.

Despite the loss, King Cove still got an impressive performance from Riley Wilson, who scored 27 points. The dominant performance gave Wilson a new career-high in points. Michael Chase Gould was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Manokotak's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for King Cove, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.
