Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Mt. Vernon had lost six straight headed into Thursday's matchup, but Audrey Stuller didn't let it get to seven. The Yellowjackets were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Zanesville Blue Devils on Thursday for which the team can thank Stuller, who had 19 digs and five aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 19 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Mt. Vernon was: they took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-15, 25-5.

Mt. Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Zanesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-19.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon will square off against Licking Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering the Yellowjackets have lost three straight at home and the Hornets four straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum. As for Zanesville, they will face off against Maysville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
