Recap: Bunn Wildcats vs. Vance County Vipers
The Bunn Wildcats had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 49-45 win over Vance County on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bunn also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.
Jameir Strickland was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with 8 rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Domantea Cooke, who scored 6 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists.
Despite the loss, Vance County still got an impressive performance from Damion Jones, who scored 13 points. Jones scored a full 28.9% of Vance County's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Corbett Southerland, Jr was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 3 steals.
Bunn's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Vance County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Bunn will head out on the road to face off against Falls Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Falls Lake is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Vance County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Louisburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Louisburg will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
