Softball Recap: Neuqua Valley Wildcats vs. Oswego East Wolves

Neuqua Valley lost against Oswego East back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats took a 16-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves.

Neuqua Valley got a good showing from Ava Drehs, who struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Drehs has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Tegan Spellerberg was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Krista Waldusky, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

Neuqua Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season. As for Oswego East, they pushed their record up to 16-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
