Preview: Charlotte Trojans vs. Falls City Beavers
Charlotte is 0-10 against Falls City since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Charlotte Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Falls City Beavers at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Charlotte sitting on five straight wins and Falls City on ten.
Charlotte posted their biggest victory since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Brackett 55-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Charlotte has posted against Brackett since January 3, 2020.
Charlotte relied on the efforts of Kadence Luna, who scored 19 points along with seven assists and six steals, and Gabby Mata, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Luna has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Boyd, who scored three points along with three steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Falls City gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They really took it to Brackett for the full four quarters, racking up a 46-17 victory at home. Given Falls City's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while Brackett is ranked 1254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Charlotte is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-15 record this season. As for Falls City, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-5.
Charlotte lost to Falls City on the road by a decisive 42-26 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Charlotte avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
