Cannon Cougars (Concord, NC) backers went home thrilled Tuesday as they saw their basketball team thwart the visiting Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC), 74-62 in a league contest.

The Cougars (14-12) will now prepare for their contest against Charlotte Christian (Charlotte, NC). The Knights go into the NCISAA Charlotte Independent contest with a 17-12 record. In their last contest, Charlotte Christian was topped by Providence Day (Charlotte, NC), 72-66, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Lions battle the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers (Charlotte, NC) in a NCISAA Charlotte Independent contest, on Friday, February 13. Covenant Day will attempt to better on its 9-19 season record. The Buccaneers enter the match with a 12-16 record after their 54-51 league loss to Charlotte Latin (Charlotte, NC).
