In Wednesday's league outing, the host Marvin Ridge Mavericks soccer squad scored a tight 4-0 win over the Charlotte Catholic Cougars.

The Mavericks (9-3) will now prepare for their test against Sun Valley (Monroe, NC). The Spartans come into the Southern Carolina 6A/7A test with a 6-7 record. In their last test, Sun Valley Piedmont (Monroe, NC), 1-1, in a league test.

The Cougars now have a 12-1 record. They take the field next when they host Cuthbertson for a Southern Carolina 6A/7A test on Monday, October 6. Charlotte Catholic will play a Cavaliers squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Weddington (Matthews, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 7-3.
