The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Lumberton Pirates (Lumberton, NC) and the visiting Hoke County Bucks (Raeford, NC), observed Lumberton's softball team get by Hoke County by a tally of 8-7.

The Pirates (10-9) will now prepare for their bout against Terry Sanford (Fayetteville, NC). The Bulldogs go into the Tri-County 6A/7A bout with a 3-10 record. In their last bout, Terry Sanford was nipped by South View (Hope Mills, NC), 16-0, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Bucks battle the Richmond Senior Raiders (Rockingham, NC) in a Mid-South 7A/8A bout, on Friday, April 17. Hoke County will attempt to advance on its 13-3 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 5-10 record after their 18-6 non-league loss to Scotland (Laurinburg, NC).
