Firestone proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 17) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Chippewa Chipps 4-3. The Falcons' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Luke Rhamy looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Nate Plas was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isaak Nespo, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Firestone's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Chippewa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.
