It was another big night for Jhalea Jackson, who scored ten points along with seven assists and six blocks. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Ranicia Coleman was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds.
Orange Park's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Autumn Nesmith, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Nesmith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Piera Alexander, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Hawthorne pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Orange Park, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hawthorne won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Buchholz at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Orange Park, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Tocoi Creek at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Tocoi Creek is ranked 103rd, while Orange Park is ranked 119th).
