The Wakefield School Fighting Owls put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Quantico for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-4 win at home. Wakefield School has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 25 points or more this season.
Wakefield School got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ceci Turner out in front who scored 17 points along with seven steals and five assists. Turner hasn't dropped below four steals for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joelle Domfeh, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals.
Wakefield School's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Quantico, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wakefield School will play host again and welcome the Hawks, where tip off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Highland: 26.4, the Fighting Owls : 14.1) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Quantico, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Colonels at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Massanutten Military Academy is ranked 398th, while the Warriors are ranked 403rd).
