The Briarwood Academy Buccaneers can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 60-39 margin over Piedmont Academy. The victory was nothing new for Briarwood Academy as they're now sitting on four straight.
Briarwood Academy was led to victory by Sam Mock and Charlie Mosley. Mock dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Mosley scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Mock is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. mason Thigpen was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Corbett Crews and Camden Moss certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Crews scored 18 points, while Moss scored five points. That was a full 46.2% of Piedmont Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Piedmont Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-5) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Briarwood Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Piedmont Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Briarwood Academy will take on Alleluia Community at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Alleluia Community has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 829 points over their last 12 matchups. Piedmont Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against First Presbyterian Day at 4:00 p.m. on January 20th.
