The Valley Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Bismarck 53-22. Valley has struggled against the Indians recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Valley had strong showings from Kenley Missey, who scored two points along with five rebounds, and Kamryn Dickey, who scored seven points.
Bismarck's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ashley Hawkins led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Hawkins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Morgan Randazzo was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Bismarck, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-3.
Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. As for Bismarck, they and the Cougars will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Kingston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while the Indians are ranked 199th).
