Mayfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jazlene Ruiz out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Victoria Kirker was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six assists.
Mayfield is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Gadsden, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

As for Gadsden, they will head out on the road to square off against Alamogordo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
