After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pisgah, The North Sand Mountain Bison were happy to have found some success on Friday. They blew past Section, posting a 51-7 victory at home. That's another feather in the cap for North Sand Mountain, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
The team won by holding Section to a paltry no rushing yards and no passing yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to North Sand Mountain's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out six times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Cruz Yates and Myles Gottmann who racked up five sacks between them.
North Sand Mountain's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33 points. As for Section, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
North Sand Mountain will head out on the road to face off against Collinsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Collinsville is ranked 282nd, while North Sand Mountain is ranked 294th). As for Section, they will be playing at home against Pisgah on Friday. One thing working in Pisgah's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
