The Marcus Marauders are taking a road trip to face off against the Little Elm Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Little Elm took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Marcus, who comes in off a win.
Marcus took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They took down Flower Mound 32-14. Given the Marauders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Jaguars are ranked 248th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marcus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kade McKnight led the charge by rushing for 123 yards and one touchdown. Those 123 rushing yards gave McKnight a new career-high. Marcus also got a significant boost from Carter Francis, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Marcus was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 356 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Little Elm managed to keep up with Guyer until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Lobos were beaten by the Wildcats 29-0. The Lobos haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Even if they lost, Little Elm's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Aidan 'Blue' Mayne with two.
Little Elm's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Marcus, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Marcus has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 187.3 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Little Elm, though, as they've been averaging only 94.1 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Everything came up roses for Marcus against Little Elm in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 66-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marauders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
