Football Game Preview: Hazelwood Central Hawks vs. Ritenour Huskies

Hazelwood Central has gone a perfect 4-0 against Ritenour recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on November 7. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Hazelwood Central is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Thursday. They were outmatched by Kirkwood and fell 38-6. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Pioneers are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, Ritenour fell victim to Rockwood Summit and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 26-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Huskies were not able to get on the board.

Ritenour's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Hazelwood Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything went Hazelwood Central's way against Ritenour in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, as Hazelwood Central made off with a 30-8 victory. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
