The Brea Olinda Wildcats will take on the Segerstrom Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Segerstrom will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Brea Olinda extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Wildcats put the hurt on Garden Grove with a sharp 42-22 win. With the Wildcats ahead 28-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Brea Olinda's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brandon Bartell led the charge by rushing for 103 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Bartell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolotolu Liti, who rushed for 87 yards and one score on only seven carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brea Olinda was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 229 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garden Grove only rushed for 99.
Brea Olinda didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Landon Muldown and Legend Mercado.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Segerstrom faced off against Westminster on Friday. The Jaguars blew past the Lions 35-14. The victory continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.
Brea Olinda better keep an eye on Ayden Morales. He was instrumental in Segerstrom's win, rushing for 102 yards and three TDs. Morales' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards.
Segerstrom's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Brea Olinda, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Brea Olinda has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 178.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Segerstrom struggles in that department as they've been averaging 280.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Brea Olinda was able to grind out a solid win over Segerstrom when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 30-18. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Jaguars' Noah Tagaloa, who rushed for 226 yards and one touchdown while picking up 13.3 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Wildcats to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
