Basketball Recap: North Skates Past Gilbert with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North). They really took it to the Gilbert Indians for the full four quarters, racking up a 90-62 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-24.

North's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashston Jamison, who went 8-for-15 en route to 22 points. The contest was Jamison's fourth in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Lavares Jefferson, who shot 58% from the field to rack up 15 points and five steals.

North was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive matchups.

North's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Gilbert, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

North will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Denmark-Olar at 8:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026. Gilbert and St. Joseph's Catholic will compete for holiday cheer at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
