The Mesa Verde Mavericks will be playing at home against the Mira Loma Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mesa Verde is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Mesa Verde suffered their biggest loss since December 28, 2023 last Tuesday. They were outmatched by Rio Linda at home and fell 66-34.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Roman Weddle, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Jeremiah Dauphine was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Mira Loma was able to grind out a solid win over Pioneer on Friday, taking the game 61-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mira Loma.
Mesa Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Mira Loma, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
Mesa Verde suffered a grim 67-41 defeat to Mira Loma in their previous matchup on January 5th. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mesa Verde was down 43-12.
