On Thursday, the Longmont Trojans's game was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 44-40 victory over Centaurus. For Longmont, this counts as revenge for the 50-30 loss Centaurus walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Longmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Savannah Pohl, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Terra Brubaker was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Centaurus still got an impressive performance from Ingrid Lorton, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lorton has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nadia Colacion, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Longmont's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Centaurus, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Longmont will take on Mead at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mead is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Centaurus, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greeley West at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Greeley West is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
