The Union Area Scotties can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. Everything went their way against Carlynton as Union Area made off with a 78-54 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Union Area had established a 22 point advantage.
Lucas Stanley was his usual excellent self, scoring 40 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Thomas, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Carlynton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Devonte Dean. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Jake Moldovan was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Union Area is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. As for Carlynton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Union Area will head out on the road to face off against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Cornell has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while the Scotties will arrive with three straight victories. As for Carlynton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Beavers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
