The Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs lost against the Pueblo South Colts back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pueblo Centennial lost to Pueblo South on the road by a decisive 63-45 margin. Pueblo Centennial has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Pueblo Centennial lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Landen Lenn, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lenn has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Adyn Jara, who scored nine points.
Maurice Austin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pueblo South, scoring 40 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Austin has scored at least a third of Pueblo South's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Duran, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Pueblo Centennial now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Pueblo South, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pueblo Centennial will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Pueblo West at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. The timing is sure in Pueblo West's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Pueblo Centennial has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for Pueblo South, they will square off against Pueblo County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
