Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Classical Prep Lions walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Lions 53-13 on the road. Classical Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.
Classical Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaelyn Malloy out in front who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Malloy has scored at least a third of Classical Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Milanes, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Classical Prep's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Hernando Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Classical Prep will face off against North Tampa Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Tampa Christian Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season. Hernando Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
