Everything went their way against the Union Yellowjackets on Friday as the Eupora Eagles made off with a 17-1 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Tucker Stroup was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Stroup was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Jacob Crimm was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season.
Eupora hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union struck out nine times.
Eupora pushed their record up to 4-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.
