The Franklin Wildcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Elk Grove, falling 44-0. Franklin has struggled against Elk Grove recently, as their game on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Elk Grove's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Archuleta, who rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Jeremiah Williams was another key contributor, gaining 111 total yards and a touchdown.
Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Elk Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Elk Grove will be playing at home against Vacaville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vacaville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
