Pasquotank County is 1-9 against First Flight since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Pasquotank County lost a heartbreaker to Currituck County when they met back in February of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. Pasquotank County took a 75-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Currituck County.
Pasquotank County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tristan Peterson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds, and Brandon Smith who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and five blocks. Peterson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayon Harris, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, First Flight came tearing into Friday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Holmes 76-42 at home. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point First Flight had established a 33 point advantage.
First Flight relied on the efforts of Mason Dobie, who scored 17 points, and Burke Powers, who scored 16 points. Dobie has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. Judah Carlysle was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Pasquotank County has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for First Flight, they pushed their record up to 13-9 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
