Nashville Christian extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Friday, bumping them up to 9-0. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 65-12 win over Ezell-Harding Christian. The result was nothing new for Nashville Christian, who have now won seven games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Leading Nashville Christian to victory were Jared Curtis and TJ Ward. Curtis threw for 244 yards and six touchdowns on only 19 passes, while Ward gained 189 total yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Curtis racked up 24 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in August. Hudson Smith was another key player, picking up 73 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Keandre Gibson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Nashville Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out Julian Murdic five times. The heavy lifting was done by Colt McClary and Michael Hoskins, who racked up all five sacks between them.
As for Ezell-Harding Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 181st, while Nashville Christian is ranked ninth).
Ezell-Harding Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Murdic, who threw for 175 yards and two TDs on only 11 passes. A healthy portion of Murdic's aerial production (96 yards to be exact) went to Kristian Jones, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Nashville Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-21 victory against Friendship Christian on the 31st. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 45-15 loss against Donelson Christian Academy on the 31st.
