Twin Lakes took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against North White by a score of 8-3. The Indians' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Myley Spriggs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Miya Clerget, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Quinn Gilford also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Logansport beat Pioneer 5-2 on Thursday. The Berries haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Gracie Risley and Natalee Packard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Risley tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Packard struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits (and not a single walk). At the plate, Risley scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Packard scored a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Packard has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Bella Nicoles was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. Another player making a difference was Kate Spradling, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Twin Lakes' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Logansport, they pushed their record up to 1-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Twin Lakes came up short against Logansport in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 3-0. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
