The Meeker Cowboys will face off against the De Beque Dragons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meeker is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.1 points per game this season.
Meeker fought the good fight in their overtime contest against North Fork on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Miners by a score of 55-52. It was the first time this season that the Cowboys let down their fans at home.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Rylee Sullivan, who posted 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That was a full 38.5% of Meeker's points, marking the fourth time in a row Sullivan has put up more than a third of the team's points. Raegan Clatterbaugh was another key player, putting up four points in addition to 12 boards, five assists, and five steals.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask De Beque). They really took it to Vail Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-19 victory. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Meeker better keep an eye on Avery Rigsby. She was instrumental in De Beque's win, dropping a double-double with 41 points and 27 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Rigsby has scored at least a third of the Dragons' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabel Zaragoza, who had five points along with eight boards and three steals.
De Beque was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in March of 2025.
Meeker's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for De Beque, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Meeker has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like De Beque struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Meeker couldn't quite get it done against De Beque when the teams last played back in February of 2025 as they fell 58-47. Will the Cowboys have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
