Buena Vista lost against Omaha South in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 61-19 score last time.
Despite the loss, Buena Vista saw an underclassman step up: Mogtaba Mohamed scored 29 points along with 5 rebounds.
Lou Hodoly went supernova for Omaha South, scoring 27 points along with 6 steals and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramon Ware, who scored 6 points along with 6 steals.
Buena Vista's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Omaha South, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Buena Vista will take on Burke at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Burke focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Thursday. As for Omaha South, they will head out on the road to face off against Omaha Central at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
