Sam Rayburn will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1264th, while Alief Taylor is ranked 548th).
Sam Rayburn pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Royal.
Meanwhile, Alief Taylor was able to grind out a solid win over Memorial on Tuesday, taking the game 47-39.
Nathan Kongolo continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with 7 rebounds. Nefi Taiwo was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Sam Rayburn's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Alief Taylor, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
