Braydon Wisener was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, Logan Gruber looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Dylan Martin and Bryce Nixon did most of the damage at the plate: Martin went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Nixon went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Martin has posted since back in March. Chance Fields was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Hargrave was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .741. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Bullard earned a 7-2 victory over Vidor on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.
Jackson Holt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Holt was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Holt wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Foster, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another was Dylan Fowler, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Hargrave's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-8-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bullard, their win bumped their record up to 25-7.
