Even though the Sankofa Freedom Academy Warriors scored an imposing 64 points on Thursday, the Overbrook Panthers still came out on top. Overbrook managed a 68-64 victory over Sankofa Freedom Academy. The win made it back-to-back wins for Overbrook.
Nasir Kelly continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with three steals. The match was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tahmiere Manning, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and six steals.
Overbrook's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Sankofa Freedom Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Overbrook will head out on the road to face off against Mastery Charter North - Pickett at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Sankofa Freedom Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Friends Select at 5:00 p.m. on January 6th.
