The Unatego Spartans pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They had to suffer through a rough 82-55 loss at the hands of Cooperstown. Unatego was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cooperstown apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.
Charlie Lambert was his usual excellent self, scoring 38 points along with eight rebounds and five assists for Cooperstown. The contest was Lambert's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Cooper Coleman was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Unatego now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Cooperstown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unatego will be home for the holidays to greet Sidney at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Cooperstown will be home for the holidays to greet Sherburne-Earlville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
