Heritage will challenge Liberty on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. The two teams have had a rocky road up to this point with seven consecutive losses apiece.
Heritage were the first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their match against Centennial last Thursday. Heritage and Centennial were almost perfectly matched up, but Heritage suffered an agonizing 33-34 loss. Heritage got a solid performance out of senior Khalil Harris, who caught passes for 133 yards and punched in 1 rushing TD; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. In fact, with 12 tackles Harris was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up at halftime, but Liberty weren't quite Little Elm's equal in the second half when they met. Liberty suffered a grim 9-42 defeat to Little Elm. The blowout was painful but not necessarily a suprise as Little Elm enjoys a considerable advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Everything went Heritage's way against Liberty the last time the two teams met as they made off with a 51-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Heritage since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
