First Coast Christian skirted past Eagle's View 13-11. While the Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
The team relied heavily on Maddie Kramer, who scored four runs while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaisha Upperman, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Old Plank Christian Academy got the win against Parsons Christian Academy on Monday by a conclusive 20-3. With that victory, the Defenders brought their scoring average up to 7.5 runs per game.
Carly Mobley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, June Jiannuzzi and Mia Wilkins did most of the damage at the plate: Jiannuzzi scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Wilkins scored two runs while going 1-for-2. What's more, Wilkins posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Kyleigh Stokes was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
Old Plank Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
First Coast Christian's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-1. As for Old Plank Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. First Coast Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .660. However, it's not like Old Plank Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .486.
