After a string of three wins, Forbes Road's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 58-48 to Southern Fulton. If Forbes Road hoped to take revenge for the 50-37 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Several Forbes Road players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Skiles, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Skiles has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ginnah Kendall, who scored 15 points.
Southern Fulton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andrea Elder, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Claire Harvey, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Forbes Road's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Southern Fulton, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4.
Forbes Road will take on Fannett Metal at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southern Fulton, they will head out on the road to challenge Claysburg-Kimmel at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
