The Conestoga Valley Buckskins will face off against the Solanco Golden Mules at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Conestoga Valley will bounce into Friday's match after beating Lampeter-Strasburg, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Buckskins blew past the Pioneers 11-5 on Wednesday. With that victory, the Buckskins brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Evan Wilson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has become a key player for Conestoga Valley: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-7-1 otherwise. Wilson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Cordell Bair was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Sawyer Esbenshade was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Solanco not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 9-0). They put the hurt on Cocalico with a sharp 12-4 win.
The team relied heavily on Joey Chapman, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Herr, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Solanco was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The victory got Conestoga Valley back to even at 8-8-1. As for Solanco, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8.
Conestoga Valley beat Solanco 7-3 when the teams last played last Wednesday. Do the Buckskins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Mules turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
