The Arvada Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Aurora Central Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arvada will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Arvada's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Mitchell. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.
Harley Medina made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Arvada is 6-1 when Medina posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cameron Henderson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Arvada's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 8-1 (and 3-6 when he doesn't). Ramon Corpus also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Arvada always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Aurora Central was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against Adams City, falling 12-2. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Aurora Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andres Aguillera, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Anderson Rodriguez was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.
Arvada's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Aurora Central, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Arvada has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .494. However, it's not like Aurora Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .453. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Arvada took their win against Aurora Central when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 9-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
