The Wellsboro Hornets won the last time they faced the Athens Wildcats, and things went their way on Friday too. The stars were shining brightly for Wellsboro in a 46-32 victory over Athens. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wellsboro.
Athens lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Korey Miller, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Connor Mosher, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Wellsboro now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Athens, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Wellsboro will head out on the road to face off against Towanda at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Athens will be home for the holidays to greet Wyalusing Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
