The Andover Central Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Haysville Campus Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Andover Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
Andover Central pushed their score all the way to 60, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 75-60 fall against Maize South. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Andover Central in their matchups with Maize South: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Andover Central got a solid performance out of Jayden Brown, who scored 25 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Newfarmer, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, even though Andover scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, Haysville Campus still came out on top. Haysville Campus walked away with a 71-61 win over Andover.
Haysville Campus relied on the efforts of Kaason Thomas, who scored 24 points along with 7 rebounds, and Andrell Burton, Jr, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jacob Webber, who scored 9 points along with 6 assists.
Andover Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Haysville Campus, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Andover Central took their win against Haysville Campus when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 70-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Andover Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
