There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. The action included a dizzyingly high 111-point combined score from Golden West and Lemoore.
Say hello to Golden West: the team broke into the power rankings at the 23rd position after its notable last-week performance. It took its contest against Lemoore by a conclusive 71 - 40 score. The Lemoore defense has struggled this season (giving up an average of 30 points per game), and Golden West took advantage of that.
Can't Touch This
Caruthers got a 50 - 7 win over Riverdale last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Chris Puga. Puga rushed for 275 yards and four touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Puga as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Clovis East (16th in the power rankings) and Buchanan (2nd). Clovis East will be sulking in after a defeat while Buchanan will strut in boosted by a win. We'll see if Buchanan can add another positive mark to its record or if Clovis East can shake off its loss and take the spring out of Buchanan's step.
