Softball Recap: Berwick Has No Trouble Against St. James

After losing to St. James the last time they met, Berwick decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Berwick Panthers were the clear victor by a 10-2 margin over the St. James Wildcats on Thursday. Considering the Panthers have won four matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Azyria Garrison was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kumari Nadar, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Berwick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Berwick's record is now 4-6. As for St. James, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berwick will take on New Iberia at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up.
