Softball Recap: Richland Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Richland extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 3-0. They walked away with a 16-11 victory over the Clarkton Reindeer. This was payback for the Rebels, who suffered a 17-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

As for Clarkton, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

For Clarkton's part, Miranda Hernandez was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Mikayla Davis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richland will welcome Scott County Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clarkton, they will challenge New Madrid County Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
