East Jordan hasn't had much luck against Mancelona recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ironmen at 4:00 p.m. East Jordan knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Mancelona likes a good challenge.
East Jordan's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Forest Area 16-0. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Emma Murray made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, East Jordan let Caitlyn Burks and Bristol Skop run wild. Burks went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs, while Skop got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Skop has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sydney Guerriero, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
East Jordan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mancelona). They walked away with a 14-9 win over Ellsworth on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Mancelona got a massive performance out of Taylor Belongia, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Belongia also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Lucy Griffore was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
East Jordan pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Mancelona, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Mancelona's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: East Jordan has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Mancelona, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given East Jordan's sizable advantage in that area, the Ironmen will need to find a way to close that gap.
