If the Richlands Wildcats were feeling good off their 50-26 takedown of the Heide Trask Titans on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Richlands fell 45-37 to Pender on Wednesday. Richlands was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pender apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Richlands' lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tashi Allen, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mia Wells, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Richlands has yet to win a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-2 record. As for Pender, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richlands will take on Southwest Onslow at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwest Onslow's defense has only allowed 25 points per game this season, so Richlands' offense will have their work cut out for Richlands. As for Pender, they will head out on the road to face off against Laney at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Laney will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
