The Union City Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 55-46 to Pennfield.
Despite the loss, Union City saw an underclassman step up: Ellie Williams dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Willow Austin, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
Union City dropped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Pennfield, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-7.
Union City will challenge Sturgis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pennfield, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Charlotte at 3:00 p.m.
