The McCrory Jaguars will square off against the Heber Springs Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Heber Springs will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: McCrory extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday. The Jaguars walked away with a 10-6 win over Palestine-Wheatley.
Bentlee Rudick was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Silver Poole, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
McCrory hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palestine-Wheatley struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Heber Springs played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over Robinson. Considering the Panthers have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Penelope Erisman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Mya Foster was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Williams, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run.
Heber Springs' victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for McCrory, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
McCrory might still be hurting after the 17-0 defeat they got from Heber Springs when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
