The Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs will face off against the Sedgwick County Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Haxtun will be strutting in after a win while Sedgwick County will be coming in after a defeat.
Haxtun is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Dayspring Christian Academy, who was ranked sixth at the time (Haxtun was ranked second). The Fightin' Bulldogs blew past the Eagles 30-6 on Saturday. Considering the Fightin' Bulldogs have won seven matchups by more than 23 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

| 10/25/25 @ Dayspring Christian Academy | 158 |
| 10/10/25 @ Akron | 125 |
| 09/26/25 @ Front Range Christian | 121 |
Zach Statz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 158 yards and one touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 121 rushing yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Haxtun proved: they limited Dayspring Christian Academy to a paltry 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Coleman Firme for the heroic effort on defense: he. Haxtun's ground attack was stronger, having averaged five.
Haxtun's defense didn't let Hawkins Flanagan, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Seth Seger was the leader with two.
Meanwhile, Sedgwick County's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 26-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Akron. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Haxtun will have to contain Brady Mollendor as he made an impact in Sedgwick County's last game. He rushed for 138 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Owen Harris, who rushed for 154 yards and one score.
Haxtun's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Sedgwick County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Haxtun has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 301.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Sedgwick County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 303 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything went Haxtun's way against Sedgwick County when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as Haxtun made off with a 32-6 win. In that matchup, the Fightin' Bulldogs amassed a halftime lead of 20-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
